Fog Computing

The term, fog computing, was originated by Cisco. It is used to indicate the edge of an enterprise’s network. Fog computing has also been labeled as Fogging or Edge Computing. The concept is intended to describe the computing nodes available between a host device and the cloud. Therefore, it is considered to be a decentralized infrastructure. It is meant to deliver the system computing capacity close to the host computer(s). Fog computing makes sense in several situations. The specific benefit that relates closely to precision agriculture describes a use case where a great number of services need to be available to locations that span over a large area and even different geographical locations. Thus, it makes a viable solution for IoT (Internet of Things) devices and devices that have sensors or cameras.
