A Geographic Information System(GIS) is a computer application that is setup to gather, store, and examine data that corresponds to specific location position on the earth’s surface. It can also display this information for the user in the form of maps so that one can view, analyze, and recognize relational patterns that will help them to understand the area they are examining.
