Red Edge Wavelengths

This is the section of the light spectrum that have wavelengths in the range of 680 nm – 730 nm. It is in the area where red wavelengths have low reflection on green vegetation and near infrared wavelengths which have high reflection. It is useful to use sensors that can record this part of the spectrum that is not visible to the human eye because it can reveal biochemical information about the plants, for example, plant chlorophyll content.
