Autel Robotics: Dragonfish Series Drones

Dragonfish Series: Fixed Wing Drones:

Autel Robotics has developed the Dragonfish Fixed Wing Series Drones. There are three versions in the series: Dragonfish Pro, Dragonfish Standard, and Dragonfish Lite. The flight times for each drone while carrying a payload are: 158 minutes, 126 minutes, and 81 minutes respectively. The Dragonfish Series is equipped with an ADS-B Receiver. This is a safety feature that alerts the drone’s pilot of any oncoming manned aircraft. They use RTK technology paired with a GNSS base station for centimeter-accuracy in the location data deliverables for mapping. Most of the Dragonfish Series payloads can be used on any of the drones within the series. Also, the payloads can be swapped out without the need for any tools. Autel’s ground control station, Autel Voyager, is a 9.7” touchscreen that has been specially designed for the Dragonfish Series Drones. Its software allows you perform such tasks, like: plan flight missions, intelligent tracking, track drone’s flight history. It has autonomous features as well, for instance, utilizing pre-programmed flight missions that have been planned at an earlier time and implemented when onsite by clicking start which allows the drone to perform the desired flight mission on its own. It also has Tap To Fly, where you select an on-camera target location. This triggers the drone to fly to the selected area and circle it. You can also modify the planned flight mission on-the-fly with Quick Mission. This lets you set other points to be investigated during the original flight plan and the drone will deviate from the original flight mission to include the pilot’s extra points of interest during the flight. The dragonfish drones can be disassembled/assembled (have a quick release design) without any tools. They can be stowed into a standard size car trunk for easy transport. The Series has a self-check system (5 seconds). The developer suggests that from assembly, system check, to ready-to-fly takes approximately 5 minutes. It also has a couple of safety feature where if the GPS signal is lost the aircraft will immediately land in its current location or if communication is lost with ground control base the drone will automatically return to home.
