RGB (Red, Green, Blue) refers to the part of the electromagnetic energy spectrum that can be seen by the human eye. It is just one section of energy wavelengths that are part of a larger group that in toto make up light i.e. the light spectrum. At one end of this section where the wavelengths are shorter, we perceive them as the color blue. The other end of the visible light spectrum, there are longer wavelengths that we perceive as the color red. every other color we can see falls somewhere between the red and blue endpoints of the visible section of the light spectrum.
